Reactions by class

  • Reaction profile is class-specific
    • SSRIs/SNRIs: GI upset, sexual dysfunction, hyponatraemia (SIADH), inc bleeding risk, discontinuation syndrome
    • TCAs: anticholinergic effects, cardiotoxicity (QT prolongation), weight gain, postural hypotension
    • MAOIs: hypertensive crisis with tyramine, serotonin syndrome
    • Mirtazapine: sedation, weight gain (used therapeutically in some patients)
    • Bupropion: seizures (dose-dependent), no sexual dysfunction/weight gain
