Agents

  • Antifibrinolytics inhibit clot breakdown - adjuncts to reduce bleeding, not anticoagulants/procoagulants
  • Tranexamic acid (TXA) - lysine analogue, blocks plasminogen binding to fibrin -> inhibits plasmin-mediated fibrinolysis
  • Aminocaproic acid - same class, less commonly used (Australia)
