Red flags

  • Signs of anaphylaxis (airway swelling, wheeze, hypotension, widespread urticaria with systemic symptoms) require immediate adrenaline and emergency management
  • Multiple simultaneous stings (swarm attack) carry a risk of direct venom toxicity even without an allergic mechanism, given the cumulative venom load
