Red flags
- Bilious or faeculent vomiting - obstruction
- Haematemesis - upper GI bleed
- Vomiting + severe headache/neurological signs - raised ICP
- Vomiting + abdominal pain out of proportion/peritonism
- Vomiting + chest pain - inferior MI can present with vomiting
- Ketotic, dehydrated, hyperglycaemic - DKA
- Projectile vomiting in an infant - pyloric stenosis
